Copyright awareness programs
CCC provides extensive copyright education programs to help companies and individuals understand copyright rules and their obligations under copyright law. We find that most people want to comply with copyright regulations but often times don’t understand what they are or how to get permission. Our educational services organization is dedicated to teaching companies and individuals about the rules of copyright and to show them how they can easily comply with those rules. We work independently and as well as in partnership with AAP, STM and others.
We reach our audiences in many ways including:
We regularly conduct online Educational Seminars. For example, on April 14th, we are hosting an online web seminar for rightsholders on the GBS settlement to help them understand what they need to decide by May 5th.
Beyond the Book programs offers advice to authors an encourages respect for intellectual property and the principles of copyright law.
Copyright Central is an online copyright educational resource that is part of our web site copyright.com. It includes our blog and an abundance of tools, templates and reports for anyone interested in the principals and practical applications of copyright.
We are active participants in legislative activities that involve copyright issues. We also actively support US publishers in protecting and enforcing their rights through the courts and in generating publicity to help increase awareness of copyright law.
We hosted OnCopyright 2008 – a conference on the evolving world of copyright as is related to the arts, society, technology and the law.
